Edward Moore “Ted” Kennedy, born February 22, 1932, was a United States Senator from Massachusetts and a member of the Democratic Party. He was the last surviving son of Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.; the youngest brother of President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy, both victims of assassination. Kennedy was known to a great orator. The 1980 rallying cry for modern American liberalism was one of his well known speeches that earned him the title of “The lion of the senate.”
Diagnosed with a brain tumor, Kennedy spent his last days with his family before he died on August 25th, 2009.
