Isaac Lee Hayes Jr. was an amazing songwriter, singer, and an actor. Isaac Hayes was one of the creative individuals behind southern soul and Stax Records; which he served as in house songwriter and producer. The Hit song “Soul Man”, which was written by Hayes and David Porter, was one of the most recognized songs of the 50’s. Rolling Stone Magazine as well as The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honored the song.

Hayes was also well known for his score on the 1971 movie, Shaft. For his composition, The Theme from Shaft, Hayes received the Academy Award for best Original Song along with 2 other Grammy awards. Later in Life, Hayes found an outlet in doing voices for the show South Park.
