Randomvision Video work

One of my friends, Tim “Randam” Salaz, recently came to me with an idea of tricking out one of his video episodes from Random Vision. His plan was to use the location of a Denver Light Rail stations. The station has a tunnel with lights that are motion censored so the shoot would involve Tim dancing to the lights over the remix of the song “High for this.”

Up top is one of the shoots I took of all the lights turning on during its programmed sequence at midnight. Below, I have a screenshot of the editing I did to create the the effects.

The art of selling art is an element of the art business that has eluded just about every artist in the game. This idea of the starving artist is nothing new. It has been around since the days of the Grand Masters. Nowadays it is even harder to sell original artwork in a world that is riddled with Art deficit Disorder (ADD). People are, many times, clueless about how much time, effort, and creativity goes into creating a one of a kind piece.However I do not put blame fully on any one party. I see that there are many factors that have influenced the way we see art. Ill be writing about these issues as I begin my journey in the world of professional art. These postings will be under the category “Starving Artist”.

Colorado Reel

After gathering about a weeks worth of footage, I started editing the footage by reducing each piece to 5-10%. This created a mimic of footage captured by slow motion cameras. hopefully I can finish this reel by the end of the month.

Beastie Boys

Working on a Beastie Boys painting on a 4′x3′ canvas i made. I made sure I put in the mega speaker that I took out of a stereo system.

The Guerilla Garden shoot

I recently visited my friend Jolt of Guerilla Garden to scout a great location for me to film him. he showed me the roof top and I snapped this picture accidentally and found it on my flash card.

Bob Marley 2.0

Starting on a Bob Marley piece for an upcoming show in April. Hope I can finish it by then. I included an upgrade the the audio art system that I think will make the art come alive.

Fixed the Dilla

I finally fixed my J-Dilla piece in time to include it into an artshow at Family Affair. The last show it was in end with the piece dropping off the wall. But there is noting that a couple of hours in the lab and $20 worth of tools from Home Depot can’t fix.

I just finished a large 15×6 MLK piece these were the two of the panels that I was working on before I took a break in the middle of painting. The painting will be at RedLine, on 24th and Arapahoe, in downtown Denver.
