Aretha Louise Franklin, born 1942, is an American songwriter, singer and pianist. She is know as the Queen of Soul because of her ability to be adept at Jazz, blues, R& B , and gospel music. The Rolling Stones Magazine ranked her number 1 of all time. She is one of the most honored artists by the Grammy Awards. She has had a total of 20 number one hits on the billboard R&B Single chart and 45 “Top 40” hits on the Billboard 100.
